Founded in 2001, easyMarkets is a trusted broker that holds multiple regulatory licenses and provides an easy-to-use trading platform suite with a variety of trading and risk-management tools. Fans of the MetaTrader suite will appreciate that MetaTrader 4 is also available at easyMarkets. That said, easyMarkets' pricing is higher than the industry average, and its research materials and range of available symbols are limited compared to the best brokers.

Founded in 2007, the Axi brand (formerly known as AxiTrader) is a trusted forex broker that holds multiple licenses in reputable regulatory jurisdictions such as the U.K. and Australia. Axi is a MetaTrader-only broker that offers MetaTrader 4 as well as social copy trading from ZuluTrade. That said, traders at Axi only gain access to a limited range of tradeable markets.

Tier-1 is reserved for the strictest, most stringent regulatory jurisdictions in the world. Tier-1 regulators impose additional capital requirements and require a tougher initial screening process. easyMarkets holds regulatory licenses in the following Tier-1 jurisdictions: Australia (ASIC Authorised). Axi, on the other hand, is licensed in these Tier-1 regulatory jurisdictions: Australia (ASIC Authorised) and United Kingdom (U.K.) (FCA Authorised). Neither have Canada (CIRO Authorised), Hong Kong (SFC Authorised), CBI Authorised (Ireland), Japan (SFC Authorised), Singapore (MAS Authorised), New Zealand (FMA Authorised), Switzerland (FINMA Authorised) and USA (CFTC Authorized)

Tier-2 and tier-3 licenses are still important in evaluating the overall trustworthiness of forex brokers. As far as tier-2 licenses go, easyMarkets is Cyprus (CySEC Authorised), while Axi is UAE (DFSA/Central Bank Authorised).. Neither have China (CBRC Authorised), India (SEBI Authorised), Israel (ISA Authorised), Russia (CBR Authorised), South Africa (FSCA Authorised) and Thailand (SEC Authorised). When comparing tier-3 licenses easyMarkets is British Virgin Islands (FSC Authorised), while Axi is none.. Neither have Bahamas (SCB Authorised), Belize (FSC Authorised), Bermuda (BMA Authorised), Cayman Islands (CIMA Authorised), Mauritius (FSC Authorised) and Vanuatu (VFSC Authorised).

Whether your broker develops its own proprietary platforms or provides access to popular third-party platforms, you should make sure you can use your preferred type of trading platform. In our testing, we found that easyMarkets offers a Proprietary Platform and Desktop Platform (Windows), whereas Axi supports a Desktop Platform (Windows) and ZuluTrade. Neither have cTrader and DupliTrade

easyMarkets requires a minimum deposit of $50, while Axi requires a minimum deposit of $0. It's also important to ensure your broker accepts the funding options and deposit methods that work best for you. In our research, we've found that easyMarkets supports Visa/Mastercard (Credit/Debit) and Skrill (Deposit/Withdraw) for funding and deposit methods, whereas Axi supports Bank Wire (Deposit/Withdraw), Visa/Mastercard (Credit/Debit) and Skrill (Deposit/Withdraw). Neither have PayPal (Deposit/Withdraw)
